Thread: everlast service and tech turnaround time

  1. Default everlast service and tech turnaround time

I ordered a 250ex powertig back in may. I received it about the end of June. Got everything I needed and tried to lay my first tig weld but the welder would not arc. Tried the stick mode and just couldn't get anything to arc. I called and spoke to Ray. He told me to send the welder to the service and tech center to have it fixed. I was upset about doing that because before I even received the welder, the 30 day free shipping was already up. I was told there is usually a 2-3 week turnaround. I waited 3 weeks after I saw it had arrived at the service and tech center and called to see what was going on. Was told I was next in line to get my welder fixed and would get a call to setup shipping at the end of the week. No call 1st week, called next week and was told I would get a call in 2-3 days... nothing. I called the week after that and was told there is 2 welders in front of me??? So now im getting upset wondering whats going on? What is taking so long to get my welder fixed and shipped back to me?

Surely the 30 day free return shipping time would not start until you receive the welder... otherwise what's the point of it ?

I thought the same thing. But on the warranty return form its specificly says 30 day free shipping period originating at the day of purchase.

That just don't seem right, maybe we need to ask Oleg to update that policy.
Penncrest Buzzbox - Infinite amp control! Man the 70's were good.
Everlast Powerplasma 60 - Reliable unit, cuts well.
Everlast i-MIG 250P w/spoolgun - Really smooth, plenty of cajones.
Everlast 250EXT - Sometimes it just takes a kick in the balls...
Everlast 255EXT - Just started playing

Well this is upsetting. Last week I called and was told it was being worked on at the moment and would get a call to setup shipping Thursday or Friday. I got nothing . Hopefully maybe this week.

Did you get anymore info about the shipping charges? Having the clock start before you receive the welder, or even before they ship it, is not right.

We actually start from day of shipping, if it for some reason does not coincide with the purchase date..ie. there is a preorder situation in effect.

Thanks for the clarification. That's what I figured, but this customer seems to have had some trouble with that. It sounded like it was just a case of mis-communication somewhere.

Called earlier today and got things setup. Thanks Ray. As for shipping, I was told I would not have to pay the return shipping
