Red face Consumable order back ordered. Are you Kidding Me!

We bought the PowerPro 205 after reading several reviews. It is a great machine BUT, when you place your order, make sure you ask and buy extra consumables at the time of intial purchase. I ordered plasma consumables 10 days ago. Today I called to see where they were and was told they are on BACK ORDER. Approx. shipping date from today is TWO WEEKS. You have got to be kidding me!

I knew I should have bought the miller plasma cutter here local, even though it cost more. Won't make that mistake again!

If you are going to sell these welders, then you are going to have to carry the consumables.

    Very unhappy customer

Why are you saying you should have bought a Miller Plasma when you bought a Tig/Stick with a plasma cutter? That's mixing apples and oranges. I understand that you are upset, but we order on a regular basis based off of average demand. BUT we can have several thousand consumables in stock, and a few 100 piece orders can wipe them out in a day. (which isn't usual, but can happen); I know nobody intended to run out...and it if we are out, then it will be remedied ASAP.

BUT with the unit you bought, the good news is that the consumables are available locally and from scores of places online. In fact, Hobart (part of itw that owns Miller) uses the same consumable. But if you have a Harbor Freight, TSC, or even a Northern tool anywhere they should have them on the shelf. Any trafimet torch dealer has these as well, which many independent welding supply dealers are as well. That's one reason we sell this torch with this unit, and a good reason to buy because the consumables are interchangeable with so many different brands of cutters on the market.

Did you know Miller doesn't make their own torch and have changed them recently, and finding consumables isn't that easy, especially online? I can go into a number of stores locally and probably couldn't scare up a handful of consumables for their new eastern europe built torch.

Try these places for torch parts and consumables:

    WeldingCity.com
    WeldFabulous.com
    BakersGas.com

A Power Pro comes with a type 26 TIG torch and Trafimet S45 plasma torch. Common as water -and generally speaking, most people do not buy their consumables from the welder manufacturer.

Anyhow, as a recent PowerPro205 owner myself, I couldn't be happier with the machine. I've had it just about a month and have used it 1-4 hours (hot-time) a day. It far exceeds my expectations and the (free) support here online which is basically 24x7 is outstanding. I looked at the equivalent Miller multi-purpose unit but be apprised, you have to buy almost everything that comes standard with an Everlast as an accessory with Miller. The final dollar figure will be well over 3 grand -close to 4. For 4 grand you can buy an Everlast TIG and a MIG machine with a grand left over to buy supplies from a discount dealer...

Likewise on River-Weld, I make a lot of trips to Kansas City but for the price and what little they had in stock ,I did the order thru river weld 10-12 days shipping but at half the cost and they are the same or as good of quality. It gets frustrating trying to get things but you have to face it in today's worldwide economy there is not as much inventory sitting around, ready to ship out ASAP like it used to be. Last month i tried to order some aluminum flux cored gas rod called Cor-Al a Harris product, Called 8 gas and welding supply distributors 2 new what i was talking about one had the product in Ohio and one just happened to have some within 45 miles of me.To say the least i bought enough to last a couple of years.
