I've never seen a spring break in a pedal. What did you fix previously?
We carry the US made pedal, which will be made to order and drop shipped from the manufacturer. It is 169.00 plus shipping.

Is this the optional low profile pedal or one that comes with the unit?
No way the spring on the default pedal broke unless a freak thing when the spring was made. And you can TIG it back together
Can you take a picture, post it or email it to sales@everlastwelders.com and we will get it fixed for you.

Oh ya and the previous fix was constantly cleaning the pot and the micro switch. Seams like I have to clean it every time I use the machine now. I can have the machine set to weld at full amperage and it will only weld to 65 or 70 amps but let off the peddle and try it again it will weld full amps it kinda got a mind of its own

And the micro switch damn that thing is so annoying! Lol

A switch is simple, it makes contact and shorts (0 ohms on a good meter). In our case it turns the welder on (pins 1-2)? What is the problem there?
You have a bad spring, and dirty POT, and bad switch too? Never had one myself as Mark said on the spring, but now all parts are bad??
Did you call and get the whole pedal swapped out?
And how did you cleaning the pot and switch. I have been doing EE work since 1979, been with Everlast for years. Never cleaned either and would like to know how to do that?

BUY THIS ONE! got this one after about 2 weeks into tigging and my welds got a TON better over night. The range in the factory pedal is nothing compared to this. also it's much more comfortable. I felt the factory pedal would not taper off enough no matter what i did before going completely off. I would often have to stop because of overheating due to the early cut off, now i can go forever as long as i got rod and coming to a edge on aluminum is way easier to control. This plus the CK200 flex torch, and some ebay gas lenses= less time/mistakes/easier/better welds.

The micro switch sticks open some times and some times sticks closed. I clean the micro switch and pot with electronic switch and terminal cleaner. Seams to work temporarily. But there us a lot if dust from grinding a d sanding in my shop.
I would like to get my peddle switched out for a new style one. The first time I started having problems with the micro switch and pot I contacted oleg and he told me I have to purchase a new one. And now the spring breaks! I don't want to have to fork out 170 bones for some thing that is obviously a manufacturing defect!
Is the peddle not covered under the warranty?

All Pedals, Torches and accessories are covered for 6 months. This is standard across the industry for even the name brands, especially the torches.
The standard pedal that is chinese has been redesigned, and he probably can sell you one at a discount.
From your admission, there is a lot of dust, etc, which would not be covered under warranty on that aspect...

If it's outside of warranty you have to buy a new one. I really have never seen a spring break. Or had to cleaned a pot/switch. And my shop is a metal dust/grinder mess.
If you have to buy a new one, I would go for the new low profile. I am not a foot pedal fan. But, if I was, that would be my pick.

A good replacement pedal is sold by SSC Controls, 8909 East Avenue, Mentor OH, 44060. 440-205-1600. Their website is http://ssccontrols.com. I am in no way affiliated with SSC Controls or any welding equipment manufacturer or any welding equipment sales outfit. I am just a hobbist who loves my Everlast 250EX and the low profile SSC foot pedal I have for it.
The model number of the SSC pedal I purchased is L50,000-S-25ft. It comes with a 25 ft cord. The foot pedal is low profile, it is wide, it has non-skid on it, it is very sensitive and accurate. It is of high quality and it doesn't feel akward (in my opinion) like the stock pedal that came with the welder does. The SSC pedal DOES NOT come with a connector for connecting it to the machine. You'll have to either cut the connector off the stock pedal you have and wire/solder it to the SSC pedal OR you'll have to buy a spare connector from Everlast and solder it to the pedal wiring. Back in Feb 2012 I paid $137 for the pedal shipped to the house. The connector I bought from Everlast and I think I paid $10 plus S/H. It took two days from the time I called SSC to the time the pedal was sitting on my door step. I live in VA, so depending upon where you live, it may take longer. The guys at SSC are top notch and if you give them a call they will help you with what you need and if you wish you can get the pedal made with a custom length of cable.
There are others on this forum that have that pedal too (and other SSC pedals). The positive comments on this forum about those pedals was enough for me to take the plunge and take a chance on one too. I have to say that I am not sorry I did. The pedal is excellent.
If I am not mistaken, Everlast, sells this exact same pedal on their website with the connector already attached for $149.00 (which is pretty much what I paid for the pedal and connector and I had to install the connector). I get this impression from reading posts on this forum, however, I am not 100% sure about that since when you look at the picture of the low profile pedal Everlast sells, on the Everlast website, the picture is not one of the SSC pedal. It's a picture of the stock everlast pedal. So if you are considering buying the Everlast low profile pedal thinking its the SSC pedal, I'd call and ask the Everlast fellas first, just to make sure. The guys at Everlast are top notch too and are very helpful.
Hope this helps. If you do choose to get that SSC pedal (either directly from SSC or from Everlast (if in fact that low profile everlast pedal is the SSC pedal)), I don't think you'll regret it one bit.
Gonna order an ssc peddle today. Sounds like the way to go
