Default Building a burner for a gas grill

I can't find the article about building the burner I saw yesterday. However the holes in the burner was not mentioned in the article. Can anyone tell me what size drill bit they use along the burner for the gas to come out for a good blue flame? Thanks Mickey

I got the information to build mine from here http://www.burnersinc.com/pipeburners/pipeburnerfaq.pdf. Mine are 1" black pipe x 52" with 48" of burner, using a 2"x1" bell for the venturi, with ~120 1/8" holes spaced at 3/4". In the end you will have to play with the gas output distance in the venture to get the best blue flame as it is a mix of propane and air. I will post picks if you want.

I don't think it will do me much good over what you have shown me so far. I will have to play with it like you said because of pipe length, orifece size and burner hole size. I will have to work with the orifice hole drilled to the burner holes to get my best blue frame. Is your burner 48" long with holes in it? Thanks for your time and will post some pic and info about it when I'm happy with the results. Thanks again, Mickey

Mickey - Yes my burner length is 48" long. I had to play with the orfice distance in the bell (venturi) to get the flame just right. I started with one line of holes the added another later after playing with it. I use a high pressure regulator with a #56 orfice. Good luck
