Greetings everyone! New guy who just purchase my very first tig welder PT250ex. Hoping I could learn how to tig by just giving a lot of seat time.

Welcome. Nice purchase! Plenty of power in a very nice welder. If you haven't already done so, check out the following web sites. A lot of very useful and practical information for you.

    Cheers!
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?

    Welcome Sang,

TIG is a pretty nifty way to weld, I think you will enjoy it. Watch some vids while you wait for the brown truck to arrive, then practice, practice, practice.

Thank you everyone for warm welcome. I received my welder today and going to take it my friends place to test it out tomorrow. I don't have everything to weld at my place. One question I have is there are two hoses on the welding torch that I don't know where to plug it into. I'm thinking one is for gas and other two are for water cooler. Is this correct?
    Thanks again,
    Sang

If it's the WP-18 or WP-20 that is correct (see the side black neck of the torch head for the model).

The water into the torch, the hose will have a re-enforced/thread look on the outside to handle the higher input pressure from the cooler if they are not labeled.

Hi Sanq, from one new member to another welcome. There is alot of into here to pull from guys who have a lot of experience, I know I sure have been learning a lot from reading some of the posts. Also, lots of posted projects for ideas.

I have only been TIG welding for a short time, but my tip would be is to make sure you keep a 90* angle with your torch and filler rod. Once I got that down, my welds started shaping up quickly - but still a long way to go. Post some of your welds and let me know how you like your 250ex once you get some time on it.
