Default The start of a new table for the 250EX

With the 250EX showing up in a few days, I wanted to build a new welding table. As it will be used for tig welding I am going to put it up against the wall of the shop, not like the one I have for MIG which is on wheels and one that I try to keep as far away from the walls as possible due to sparks. I have about 6 feet of open wall next to my tool boxes, and think it will go great there. Before heading down to the steel yard tomorrow I decided to look at Craigslist for some second hand steel. I was able to pick up this contraption for $30 - I mean how could I pass that up. The big flat part measures: 62.5 inches long X 30.5 inches wide X 0.25 inches thick. The measurement of each of the sides: 62.5 inches long X 16 inches wide X 0.25 I know it is in the raw, and not much to look at now, but just wait until it get after it with the PowerPlasma 60 and hit it with the sandblaster.

I will post some photos in a few days on the progress.

Nice find! The sides will be good for something, too, I'm sure. Have you put some thought into what the table will look like and what "features" you might need to build in? Cheers!
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?

So far, all I have in mind is to only cut one of the side off. Then cut that side at an angle making to triangle pices and then attaching them as end caps. Some tube for the frame and some casters. I am sure it will develop.
