Thread: rental biz?

    Default rental biz?

Hey guys I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right area but... Here goes... The shipboard installation company I work for is looking to expand the number of employees by 3 times as many as we currently have and well we just don't have the equipment for it and we could be writing equipment rental into the contracts... I was thinking of buying three plasma units 2mig units and three stick/ tig units and renting to the company I work for. The questions are.. 1 how many units do I need to buy to be a dealer 2 anyone see any problems I'm overlooking ? And I do have a few more but its way past my bedtime guys....long hours and no days off in months sux!

Thanks. I think my biggest problem is getting everyone else to use something that doesn't say Miller on the side. But I want a 200dx and I told them once I got one I'd bring it to the shop and let the welding supervisor check it out and go from there.... Yep there sceptics... Probably from years of uncle Sam picking up the tab on expensive equipment rentals

I hear you. But there are a number of independent die hard fans of the red and blue, I was one. I was until I bought an Everlast unit. Probably took me 6-9 months to drop the Miller, the Lincoln plasma had died and how I stumbled on to Everlast in the first place. Now we are much easier to find. The Miller was a MIG and I sold it later.

All equipment for 6+ years has been Everlast. No complaints. But I understand what you are going through. The sad part is getting a 200DX and see it welds better than the work machine. I've heard that way to many times over the years. Sort of funny though.

Get Oleg on the phone number below, ext 201. He will get the ball rolling for you.
