Thread: SuperCut 50P arrived today.... regulator broke

Default SuperCut 50P arrived today.... regulator broke

Well UPS made it here a day early and the box was in good condition. The unit itself looks fine but the regulator is broke. At first I thought I needed to put it together, but after looking at it and trying to figure out how the hell the top was suppose to stay on I realized it was broke. Here is a picture of the parts:

I guess I need to email or call someone for a replacement? In the mean time I guess I will bypass it and use the regulator off my compressor to make sure the unit is working correct.

That suck's , you wait on something to arrive only to find the shipping Gorillas decide to throw it around, If you were close i would give you a regulator ,I have several new small ones laying around.Looking at yours if my memory is correct the bolt screws in thru the spring and the small round plastic ring fits on top of the nut and the cap screws down over all of it to increase or decrease pressure. I have had some of them come apart in transport to long distance jobs.

Honestly I question if it happened during shipping because the regulator is in a separate box, that is in another box, inside a third and final box. All of which were in good condition..... My guess is the regulator was broke at the manufacturer and stuck in a box anyways.

I have a regulator inline with my compressor (not a built in) and I can just turn the pressure down for now to test the unit (hopefully tomorrow).

    Shane,
You need to contact extension 202 and have a new one shipped out. The top just barely snaps on, and is meant to be pushed an pulled with those little tabs grabbing the base. It will come apart, but I can't figure out exactly how or why you got it apart that far, unless it was in those pieces to begin with.

Who is actually selling the 50P on Ebay, Everlast or a dealer?

It was in pieces in the box. At first I thought I was suppose to put it together. Then I seen the back of the black plastic disk looked rough and it matched the top of the regulator (broke off...). I'll make sure everything else works fine tomorrow and then give them a call.

    Thanks for the #

Well I fired up the plasma cutter today and all seems well. It did act up one time but I am not sure if it was something I did or not. I had used it to cut a piece of 6x4x.250 angle (at 50 amps) and left it sitting for 5 - 10 min while I ground the rough edges off and clamped it in place. I then picked up the torch and hit put the tip against the metal and pulled the trigger.... nothing. On the unit, the little red light was on so I turned it off and waited a min and turned it back on. Worked fine. I don't know if I over did it cutting the angle... wouldn't think so as the total cut time was probably 5-6 min total with a minute or more gap between the cuts ( 3 cuts total).

All in all I am very happy with it. Cut some 3/8 bolts off in seconds.... Now just need to get the regulator replaced.

THANKS EVERLAST TEAM!! You guys rock!!!

Emailed via ebay this AM regarding the regulator and already have a tracking number. That is top notch service in my book.

Also got quotes on a I-Tig 200, 185 micro, or 200DX with the contest discount... Now I have to start planning. Already listed some stuff on ebay to raise the $$$.... Just can't decide if I want AC or not..... I did notice Amazon has a 200DX for $889 shipped!!! It is a customer return..... Im guessing that kills the warranty?

I think amazon only sells the previous generation (not the updated models). Get AC, if you don't you'll wish you did.

Previous generation???? my 140ST was dated 3/2012. Nothing on their site indicates it is an "old" unit. In fact it is the same as the listing Everlast has on amazon (just at a lower price).

May be right.... that would explain the lower price than buying strait from everlast (and not much more than buying with the 25% contest discount when you add in shipping....)

Still wondering on the warranty? Is it still under the 5 year warranty or dead as it is "used". Read the warranty page and it only says 5 years from original purchase....does not say transferable or non transferable

Under certain circumstances, we do transfer warranty, but it should be worked out ahead of time with Everlast.

So how does that apply to the unit for sale on amazon? Also can you confirm or deny that the units amazon sells (200DX) are the new version or the old version?

I keep seeing the 5yr warranty mentioned on the forum, but I thought it was changed to 3 at the end of last year. Which is it?
Penncrest Buzzbox - Infinite amp control! Man the 70's were good.
Everlast Powerplasma 60 - Reliable unit, cuts well.
Everlast i-MIG 250P w/spoolgun - Really smooth, plenty of cajones.
Everlast 250EXT - Sometimes it just takes a kick in the balls...
Everlast 255EXT - Just started playing
