Everlast 210EXT units are hitting the doors.

Just received the final update unit (cosmetic changes). So far impressed and it is not out of the box yet. I will snap pictures later.

Packaging stronger, lower profile pedal, stinger is clamp style. Little things people complain about getting fixed. It looks like a WP26 torch (I will live) and I will swap that out after playing with it first. Has a black handle over the chrome, looks meaner. Also small and light compared to the 250EX.

All in all, excited. I have not pulled it from the box, just popped the top open.

More later. Will see if I can break away from all the knob/settings at a glance.

If you pre-ordered you should have yours by now as mine went from Ca to Fl.

Some pictures below. I don't have a spare 50 amp plug (will pull one off a unit or get one tomorrow), but the IMAX said 23amp/230vac, also, 210amps at 40%.

Basically, if the imax is correct it will get a twist lock 30 amp and this unit could replace my 250EX and the 160STH. And the size it a major plus (8.5W x 16H x 18D). The 250EX will probably always be the shop machine, but I think this unit will be a great AC/DC TIG and portable TIG as well.


The package. Wait.. There was no manual in the box? Don't need a manual anyway. Only two collect sizes and a 26 torch, but if that is the only disappointing part. Not bad


Display, more I looked at is, the simpler it became, fist glance was I like all the knobs.

It doesn't have the thumb control, the grey fooled me too. But the pedal is much nicer than our older pedal.

Comes with a 1/16" and 3/32" collet. For the amps that is fine. Touch is nice but no water cooled, again, for the amps it is fine.

The quick connect for the gas, I have to ask Mark what kind and pick on up tomorrow. And there was not one in the package, or hose or regulator. I will have to ask Oleg is that is normal, or because it was send to me and I have all that (not the quick connect though).

I did wire it up for 30 amps and played with it (control panel, not weld). I like it a lot (after watching Mark's video). I will probably not bother using the presets. It is so simple to change the settings, I thought I was gonna hate that part.

Have not welded with it yet, have a stainless project, but I think I will wait until tomorrow night to do it. Jody seemed to like the unit, so I will assume the output side is typical Everlast IGBT inverter and works as well as any blue unit.

So you select AC/DC, then the program number adn it goes into whatever you saved? That seems reasonable.

AC - 1 for 1/8" dirty aluminum
AC - 2 for .050 thin tubing
etc...

The manual really isn't clear on a lot of the functions that are stored in a preset. I was thinking the other day that maybe it would be better to make up a separate booklet about how to weld to ship with every welder, and keep the manual more focused on the actual machine. It seems a lot of each manual is taken up by the same "how to weld" sections. I've seen this same thing done with machine tools, where the manual is more in depth about each control, and there is another booklet for teaching, like South Bend's "How To Run A Lathe". Just a thought...

Slight delay. Mine shipped without the argon quick connect. Will see today if I can rig something, looking to try it on a project, but project must be done by Sat, so old trusty 250EX will save the day.

The panel is a dream to work not seeing the knobs I am sure will not bother me.

I got lucky, normally I am the last since so far and customers come first. Virginia might be as bad as Florida too.

I've been figuring on the same: if machines were slotted for customers I assumed I would be low on the priority list. I've been thinking about that long trip via UPS or whoever from West Coast to East Coast, and in my mind feeling every bump on the highway, but the IMIG showed up just fine. No use worrying until there's actually something to worry about.

The packaging is a lot better. Yours should be there soon, mine did not get here until yesterday. Waited from Feb For the last kinks to be worked out. It will be worth the wait.

No worries on this unit as far as shipping, IF the units are still in the same box. The cardboard on the unit they shipped from the factory was a special type, almost 3/4" thick with thicker foam around the ends. Maybe Mike can give a clue as to what the production units actually have.
