Thread: How Bad is this tip/electrode

Default How Bad is this tip/electrode

How do you tell when to change the tip and electrode.

I think this tip/electrode set is bad. Is that right, and how bad is it?

    Thanks.

A tip is only bad when it doesn't cut right,,,just looking at a tip is somewhat misleading,,that tip could have lot's of miles left in it.

Hole elongation is the primary wear you are looking for.

What effect does the cratering at the end of the electrode have? I normally replace mine at the same time just because they are sets, but other than discoloration, they seem to hold up much better than the tips.
Penncrest Buzzbox - Infinite amp control! Man the 70's were good.
Everlast Powerplasma 60 - Reliable unit, cuts well.
Everlast i-MIG 250P w/spoolgun - Really smooth, plenty of cajones.
Everlast 250EXT - Sometimes it just takes a kick in the balls...
Everlast 255EXT - Just started playing

By elongation do you mean "depth" or "diameter"?

Elongation would refer to the diameter.
