    HELLO EVERYBODY IM NEW IN THE WELDING BUSSINES.. I PURCHASE A 200DX 6-7 MONTS AGO AND SLOW BY SLOW I CAN MAKE MORE JOBS IN THE SHOP...
    MY QUESTION IS HOW THE PROFESSIONAL RACE BUILDERS MAKE THE GOLD DIMES IN HIS JOBS...
    HERE IS A PIC OF A FEW JOBS I DID





    IF YOU LOOK AT MY WELDS THEY DONT LOOK SHINY

    I WOUL LIKE MY WELDS LIKE THIS



    I HOPE THE EXPERTS CAN HELP ME

    If you overheat stainless it will get dark and lose the shine. Also you need to have good argon coverage whenever it's red hot. Be sure to keep your torch over the weld after you stop the arc, and you might even need trailing coverage if you weld longer runs. For an inch at a time you should be ok with just the torch. Also you will need back purge for tubing like that.
    Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!

    what size of cup would you have used if you was welding this rambozo?

    Since I would only do short welds on stainless exhaust tubing, and move around to help control the heat put into the part, and warping, I would probably use a 1/16" tungsten and a #7 or #8 as long as I could get access with it.

    Your filler is regular steel, from what I can see of the copper color filler in the pic and I suppose your metal is as well? It won't give the heat lines like Stainless.. Also for a shinier weld, adjust your argon flow up or use a gas lens or a smaller one.

    thanks for i really aprecciate the help... i will post more pics of my next stainless welds... PERFORMANCE yes is regulaicr steel.. i think is easier to get a shiny weld with the stainless steel parts/rod ...
