Thread: A new guy from CT here!

  1. Default A new guy from CT here!

    Just saying hi to all,

My name is Dmitry and I'm from Eastern CT. I'm a database administrator by a profession and just starting learning welding. I only have had an experience with stick welding back about 13 ( -o-o-o) years ago. I've spend quite a few nights searching internet reading this forum and everlastgenerators.com web site in search for a good welding machine at an acceptable (for me ) price, so most of the colors except green were politely rejected either because of the price or quality reasons. I'm currently waiting for MTS200 and plan to use it for a work around the house, mostly on steel (mig/stick) and aluminum (via spool gun), as well as learning TIG at some day... Plan to run from the portable 10KW genset as well as from the wall. I don't have MIG/TIG setup yet, so the first plan is to try the unit on a flux core. I'll be posting my pictures/videos/reviews of the machine. I do have few projects in mind, like building the greenhouse and a wood heater for the sauna. So, let see how it goes...

    GL to all!
    Dmitry.

Hey Dmitry. Welcome to the forum! Looks like you've done your homework. I did a lot of research before buying my welder too.

The MTS is a great pick. A lot of flexibility in a nice compact package. Can't wait to see more information about your projects. Cheers!
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?
