Good news indeed. This welder is a huge addition to the Everlast welder lineup. Very impressive. Bring on the videos.

Hey Oleg, when are you guys going to schedule pickup of the 250ext units? I keep asking, but not getting answers. I'm not in any significant rush, just don't want to fall through the cracks.
I asked a few times too and got "no hurry" and "don't worry" so I stopped fretting about it. We are on the record as wanting replacements and I have zero doubts that Oleg will make good in the end. I appreciate having it available even though I don't fire it up very much. I do wish I hadn't been so hasty digging the crate out of the barn though.
Penncrest Buzzbox - Infinite amp control! Man the 70's were good.
Everlast Powerplasma 60 - Reliable unit, cuts well.
Everlast i-MIG 250P w/spoolgun - Really smooth, plenty of cajones.
Everlast 250EXT - Sometimes it just takes a kick in the balls...
Everlast 255EXT - Just started playing
This is great news - so I assume the pros liked the units they tested? Any additional details on the reviews of these initial units would be highly welcomed.![]()

Ok guys. I had a 255ext to test for a few days before I passed it on this week. I'll be putting up some video of it. Do a video manual etc. Trying to get the video manual out tonight or Saturday as we speak. I made a couple of programming recommendations which can be done with a few key strokes on a laptop when they are set up in final production phase. About to take lunch, but will come back and give a few more details. We do have 4 excellent functioning AC wave forms, 500 hz DC(although the one I tested was set to 250hz...one of the programming things I referred to) and 250Hz AC pulse (advanced square wave, with the alternate wave forms capable of 10 hz each, which I think is a reasonable expectation. 3 amp operation on DC, 5 amp operation on AC. And for the videos, I took several "light ups" on a sprite can, which I'll put together. It doesn't like to start the arc if you run a ball. It prefers a point, which is not an issue at all. It will start, but it makes it more difficult. It is a capacitive discharge HF like the i tig 200T. I'll put up some "internal" pics later. It's pretty clean and doesn't have all those wires like the units in the past did. All main boards are plug and play. There is no hidden menu on this unit (as of now) and everything's been pulled out to the front of the panel. Right now, I've got a Dr's appt to keep with my kid, so I'll post more later.

Mark, can you please clarify a couple of statements from your earlier post, thank you.
First, regarding the frequencies stated, Does changing the waveform limit the AC frequency? Which would not be expected, or did you mean using Advanced Pulse limits the pulse frequency, which has been discussed and we are expecting.
Doesn't the AC frequency range run full scale regardless of which of the 4 waveforms is selected? I am not sure why you made the distinction between "advanced square wave" and the "alternate wave forms" with regard to the "10 hz".
If this was a slight misstatement, and you meant to describe "Advanced Pulse" mode, then fine, but then please answer this, Are all 4 waveforms still available in Advanced Pulse, at all AC frequencies, albeit limited to Advanced Pulsing at 10 hz?
Second, even a pointed electrode will ball slightly in AC, with any balance setting, at the very tip. Only a freshly ground tungsten is sharp on the first strike. You are not saying this level of sharpness is needed for good starts in AC are you? This would not be expected.
Thanks for the clarification,
Really ready in Kent now,
Jim
How much longer do you think until they are actually here and being shipped out?
Week to 10 days.

Just caught up on the new videos, fantastic set of accessories! I love the brass ground clamp, and the 25' leads. Being a fan of the clamp stinger, I'm glad to see that, too. And of course I think that the torches you picked are a great combination.Having the flowmeter in CFH should quiet some folks, although I could never understand why that was such a big deal as the conversion is basically a no brainer. The rack and pinion pedal sounds promising, too. This unit is shaping up to be a first class package, out of the box.
Is this unit eligible for the coupons from the last contest, even though it wasn't available back then?
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!
The low amp starts are looking lake a huge improvement over the 250 EXT.
Week to 10 days that sounds great. I have the 6-16th off of work and will be around the house during this time!

Last I heard you were expecting to receive these in a week to ten days. Any updates? I have a big project that I'm gonna need this welder for that is coming up rather quickly.
People seem to think we at Everlast never sleep, online tech support Saturdays, Sundays, holidays etc.. We aim to please.
Well, it's 8:30AM Saturday and I have a 255ext to test. Oleg sent a 2013 255ext for evaluation/training and it landed here yesterday but I was tied up. I will hook it up and get working with it today. Later, I'll hook up with Mark and compare notes.
So off to find a plug, or pull one, or go buy one. I really like the 210ext, so we'll see how they compare.
First notes are, the packaging was great and no real damage and it was not as heavy as I thought it would me. Did not unwrap the plastic yet.

I hope the latest comments are not directed at my request for an update... That would be uncalled for. One of the beauties of a forum is the ability to respond at your convenience. And it is called a forum for a reason, so the information is available to all. To get defensive and attack would be poor customer service, especially since I/we have been so patient for so long. I am just inquiring about a product that your company has told me would be ready by now, and I have over $2000+ invested in. I do not believe I was rude, demanding, or in any way attacking, so again I would hope this response was not directed at me.
I can not comment on the USA time frame . I will leave that to others but I know I will be talking to the factory within the next two weeks to schedule a time frame for me to be there for these and other units to be produced . For Canada I expect likely mid October to be completed but I never like giving time frames because of any possible unforeseen circumstances developing especially when it comes to new model first production runs.
Cheers
Update on this unit so far.
Mark and I chatted a bit this morning right after I posted that I received one for training. So far we agree on everything, he gave me some checks to make (wave forms, etc). I fired it up and setup two menu settings (AC and DC) but was pulled off to go look at a friends 53' trailer with some issues.
I hope get get back on it today, if not I will tomorrow. I did take a couple shots with the cover off. After I see how much junk is in the background I will edit and post them up.
So far very please with everything, looks and operations wise, just have to weld with it.
