    Default New website

Guys we have been promising a new website for ages, but we are definitely close to releasing one, including a new forum "skin". Same forum, but integrates the website look which is a lot cleaner. There's a lot of facets to the new site, and in some ways though it is much simpler to use. But be prepared for a few glitches as things will take about 4 days to transfer over according to the web people. I am in the middle of a semi final review of the site. There are issues, still but we are about 85%.

I am sure you guys will find any flaws soon enough that aren't imagined even after it goes live. That's a good thing. We'll have all the main product up first, along with a small amount of consumables, and torches, but everything with that respect has to be entered manually since we are taking a new approach and some things have changed in the format. So, if and when we go live, please give us a little grace and a heads up if something is wrong. But look forward to it soon. Most every product is in right now, but the consumables and torches etc have to be tackled to make sure they are working and displaying as planned.

It sounds like this has been a constant source of chores for everyone. The other night this site was down for maintenance and made me wonder if the new site was launching, but no. So we'll continue to look out for it!

If the guys can get the back end of the site working correctly it should be some time next week. The issue is that they keep "unfixing" things. Right now they tell us things are completed when they aren't or things are fixed and they are worse. We're probably going to go live with a soft open for some of our forum guys so they can run the site and find anything else needing fixing.

I was thinking the same thing the other night, Dave. I was all excited too about the site launching. I really should look into getting a life outside of the welding forum!

If you can't get it figure out, hire the folks that do the healthcare.gov site.
They seem to really be on top of things.

I think we did. The Indians were easier to deal with and much more responsive, and if they got it wrong, they worked until things got right. It took them a while to understand our concept and expectations, but once they did, they caught on and things were pretty easy by comparison. They always managed to be able to do what we requested. These guys...well...
