Oleg, thanks for this news, now it's going to be even harder to wait!
Jim
will the new units be similar in looks to what is posted originally in the thread?
No, this is EU look.
Ours will be as posted earlier

Looks more like my favorite the TIG MASTER, with the square column instead of round like the Victor. Either way I like this design a lot.
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!
Looks like all the new machines show improvements in my opinion. I hope they live up to the expectations

Jason, there are a few surprises more that will be introduced this year. We're still holding a few cards on thing we have been working on. You see those wrapped connections etc? Everything we have been doing in the last few years is coming together as far as quality and cooperation from the factory.

I've been using my 250 EX for little projects here and there, and even though I LOVE the way it performs, I think that this new machine could make it possible for me to do some things that I'm currently unable to do. The ONE feature that really has me bummed is that the AC advanced pulse will only go to 10hz. I've been playing with the pulse settings on the EX, and found that: on 11ga aluminum, getting up to around 120+ hz, and setting the background at about 30% with a base current at 180 amps, the ease at which I can run a bead on say, an outside corner, is MUCH nicer and easier to control than running a straight, non-pulsed 120-130 amps. I'm still a noob at the whole TIG thing, but learning the capabilities of my 250EX at the same time that I'm honing my skills is making the progress toward becoming a better welder progress much faster than when I was using my Linde Ucc-305. I want this new welder simply because it's the latest technology, but I'll survive with the 250EX just fine until A: I can afford the upgrade, and B: the pulse frequency is upped into at LEAST 200 hz on the AC advanced. Bottom line: I want a new one because they're COOL

Hooda,
Having a high pulse frequency isn't the purpose of the advanced pulse. First, a high pulse frequency for this AC/DC thing isn't possible I don't think because it is physically switching sides of the inverter and the output. But on a larger note, the pulse in the advanced mode helps freeze the puddle rapidly on advanced aluminum, while having rapid forward travel, and creating a more "defined" stack of dimes. It's almost like bump welding without the arc going off completely.
I'll try to make a more detailed video of the pulse soon. We have one up, but the camera was giving some problems. Working on figuring out how to get better shots. If I can get a close up, you'll be able to see how the welder works on advanced better.

So as I keep reading on the forum about the old 250 EXT’s and 2013-255EXT replacement unit, I would like to know more about the memory setting numbers 0 to 9 do? Mainly what it does not do, as in what it does not save?
If that is available at this time.

The memory setting memorizes everything from tig/stick, power settings, frequencies.... But for myself the logic is so easy to change I just adjust the settings as I work with the 250 EXT. It looks like the 255 EXT logic will be similar and that is a good thing because the 250 EXT is easy to program.

Also, are there any updates on the testing of the 255 EXT?

I have been away for a bit and not much seems to have happened. I would also like to have an update on the 255EXT. Oleg stated his target was a March delivery, and March 1st is 3 days away, and no talk that I can see ... Everlast, let's not get too tight lipped as a reaction to the 250EXT experience, part of why people like this company is the openness to it's customers.
Come on, throw us a bone!
Cheers,
Mike
