2013 Miscellaneous changes for Everlast line

So here are a few of the updates for next year.

NEW 2013 PowerPlasma 60/60/70/80

- Will feature the s-75 torch now, which is a blow back start, which improves comparability for add on CNC customers, but also improves overall reliability.
- There is a new case design which will be used for all the DX/LX/EX units which is very similar to the new 255ext.



NEW 2013 PowerTig 200DX/225LX/250EX

- Line will get a slight "refresh" on all the larger PowerTIGs. The Panels for all the larger PowerTIGs will have a slight redesign. More to be posted later.
- There is a new case design which will be used for all the DX/LX/EX units which is very similar to the new 255ext.

That one is easier to read. Instead of having the instructions to turn down all the slope controls to use the pedal, why doesn't plugging the pedal in, disable those controls? Seems like it's a common issue for support.

True, but you do use a pair of contacts in the plug to indicate that a pedal is connected, so you could use that signal to switch out the slope pots either with a solid state circuit, or even something simple like a relay. It's not like a major design revision would be required. Just something to keep in mind for the next revision.

BTW do the start amps and end amps function when a pedal is used? I can see how that might be a little useful even with a pedal, mainly for setting the start current up a little bit over the minimum.

I personally like having the flexibility to adjust things to a state where the machine won't even function, but I know that makes for a machine that is not n00b friendly. Sometimes you get really interesting effects out of very unconventional settings.

Well I was looking at a Power Plasma 70 now I will wait for the New 2013 it looks nice just like all the new 2013 models. Nice work ??????

No joke, I just rotated my PP70 to a PP80 a couple months ago to get current. Now I have to sell the PP80 and get the newer look...

Just like the Iphones iphone 5 is new PP80 now. I like the new plastic covers. Right now only my ITIG 210ETX has one.

To REALLY be the Steve Jobs of the welding world, Oleg will need a little more dramatic flair, and make everything in polished white plastic and/or brushed aluminum with proprietary connectors, and cost MORE than the competition. But the new machines coming out definitely have that 'cool' factor

I really do like the look of the new boxes that have the flip-down "visors". Hoping I can afford one of the new PowerPro 256's in the next year!

As one of many that has helped on the cool factor (Mark, Duncan, myself; sure others too). I think our machines are cool for a tool to melt metal together.

My joke was all the cosmetic changes I like. I think Oleg has that down pat. Always looking better. The products work great...

Drama/matic flair, well, it's a welder (not a wife).

Probably the funniest, most ironic thing I've read in months!! Thanks for the laugh. But I'm the same way. I use a CAD/CAM platform every day, and so far, I've been the ONLY machinist that uses this particular shop's system and locks up the computer on a regular basis (like 2-3x daily). I was getting yelled at until the boss saw my "vision" of what I was trying to do, and realized it was the equipment, not the operator.

I'm really liking the new look, too. I might have to sell my 250EX and upgrade. Only thing is that I like it so much I'd have a hard time letting it go. Anyway, first, I need to get a MIG. What's the word on the new Power I-MIG's? Any changes? I'm thinking I need a 250p next.
