So I had a friend with a broken muffler on his XR 650. I fabricated a support out of sparer 14 gague materials laying around. Cost 0.00 (well there was some electrical charges but did not need to purchase anything for this repair).
The bracket utilized bolts in the muffler. I wanted to rivet a smaller bracket to the muffler but the owner did not want any more holes in the muffler (he is an I&C Technician and he did not trust the mechanical engineer that the muffler performance would not be affected). Anyway bracket works great and much more rigid when installed than I thought.
Tools used. Miller 252, drill, grinder, disk sander.
