Mod for PA140ST?

I'm sure many have seen this already and it'll probably void the warranty but I think it's so useful and maybe could be rigged for a foot pedal. It may just be somebody from this forum! If so please explain what you did. The adjustment on my unit is not as gradual as I'd like so maybe this is a way to solve that issue too. Any thoughts? Good or bad?
