Default 17 Tig Torch problems ??

Was trying out my new 200DX appears to be a great machine . Using with a couple of different torches i have and i am having a gas problem with one torch. I have a WP-9 flex head 3/32 tungsten # 6 cup argon 15 cf ,welding some mild steel at 75 amps welds great clean bright welds very nice. Switch over to the WP-17 Torch same tungsten nozzle ect. and there is a gas problem lots of porosity in the welds dirty looking not bright. Tried replacing collet collet body tungsten ect. ????. I took the gun apart found one spot in the hose that did not look right and repaired it . No Luck still the same problem.

    Any ideas

Check the o-ring on the torch back cap.

Been in there from both ends, Just went out and checked all the removable parts on the torch they all look good nothing mismatched or wrong. I am going to pull the cover off the cable and look at the gas hose in the morning. It is definitely not supplying a steady volume of gas , I can change the way i am holding the torch or move the torch lead and get gas to flow.
I wouldn't be using this torch but my new 200DX came with the old style torch SR26 with the switch tie wrapped on, i am used too the euro style torch and would like all my torches to be the same.

This isn't the "Old" style. It is the new style. The euro is on the way out...It is the old style.

    Sorry

    Mark and Oleg

I was mot aware that this was the newer style torch with the super flex cable in it. I will have to eat crow and give it a try and see how i like it. I will still be addressing the problem with the old WP-17 Euro Style torch and the gas problem and post what i find. I am betting on a kink or bad spot in a hose as this torch has been laying around for a while.

No this isn't the super flex, but it should be more flexible than the old economy torch.
