Default A new guy with a new tig!

Hey guys! I'm from Quebec and got a Power I-Tig200 from Duncan last week. I got to say Duncan is a really nice guy to deal with, he take care of his buisness and I'm glad he finally get my money! I was juggling between a couple units at first, Maxstar 150 STH, TA 201TS, TA 186 and the PT 200dx , AC/DC or just DC and then I said to myself: Dude, you are a learner... so get a good learner unit. Why laying 2000$ for a unit if I never really tig before, I'll sqeeze my dollars for the next unit instead, 250+ amps, AC/DC... probably leaning to the next 255EXT when it will have some testing & review from the field!!... not a 200amp AC/DC with limited duty cyle!! So far I think I get the best learner unit on the market for the cash I lay down! I got a couple knobs to play with, but I didn't really try anything fancy yet!!

So just glad to be part of this community!!

Welcome. That's an interesting choice, pretty much all the features you can ask for in a DC unit at a great price. You can certainly learn about everything for DC TIG with that unit. Did you get a foot pedal? I know some of the Canadian packages are a little different. What kind of projects are you planning?

Welcome to the forums, Mike! Glad you enjoyed your purchase experience- you're lucky to be near the sales floor. What brings you to TIG, got any projects going now?

Sure I'm gonna start a build thread here!! Gonna call it: BoB-A-SwinG project!!
