Thread: PP205 just popped

    Default PP205 just popped

I was cutting some 5/8" steel plate and the unit popped and smoked.

I called into the warranty/support line and left a message. I also tried to send an email to make sure this issue was seen as well as heard. But, for whatever reason my email to support@everlastwelders.com will not go through?

I understand you guys are most likely busy and that I should be patient and wait for a phone call, but it would make me feel better to have some written correspondence. Sometimes voice messages fall through the cracks.

I got as far as taking the case/cover off of the unit and I can see that a board is fried. I have pictures I can send someone if that will help speed things along at all. Not trying to be a PITA just want to get this going.

This email address "support@everlastwelders.com" has had problems for some time. Sorry about that, I did not get the email.. I changes the signature to the EMAIL I have been using for support. Hope Oleg can fix it.

Just got off the phone with Ray. He said he didn't recieve my emails. One describing the problem and one with pictures. I don't claim to be in the welder repair business, but soldering a few wires should not be a huge issue. He asked me some questions that I kind of understood. He told me that the problem could go beyond just the IGBT board, but he could send me a new one.

I was unaware that the turn around time on a repair was a few weeks! Feeling the beginnings of regret here. I'm hoping that the problem just stems from running too long near the limit of the machines capabilities.

My question now is if I'm sent a new board and for whatever reason the issue is not resolved will I still be able to send this thing in without any problems? Will Everlast still pick up the shipping tab?

Also I received an auto-reply message from Everlast about my emails. Is there just a delay in the system, or did they go to the wrong person?

If Ray can send you part and you can install it then we can cover shipping

When you emailed Ray what email did you use that he did not receive it?
