Thread: Are the new 2013 models out yet?

    Shane,

We have had the MTS for a while, but they are getting added features so it is worth the wait. But, I have used the IMIGs since day one, have a 200, 205P and 250P. I would never trade them just to add TIG, but me that is extra work. So for me, I have two TIGs with tanks and 3 MIG with tanks. So it is all what works for you. But the old units are fantastic as well.

I had heard end of this month. After the 22nd plus. But not 100% sure. Waiting on a 2013 250EX myself. But the old 250EX and 210EXT are serving me well so not that excited. But for those that have them on order I am sure they are.

I have to agree with this evaluation as I was testing the units the other week and this is what brought up the question and the reason I asked.
Mind you it is a close call between these and the 205 ( I have the most time on the I-Mig 205 so it is the easiest for me to relate to )
The new model digitals may very well be as good or better but at this point until you start actually evaluating them there is little you can say to the quality of weld they will put out.Cheers
Interesting. I was researching the IMig models a bit, but this comment about the got me looking at the MTS models, which has me a bit confused.

    • The Everlast site shows the MTS200 and MTS250S, but the photo on the main 1-phase MTS page shows an MTS200S
    • The Everlast eBay store has the MTS200S and MTS160 listed
    • Amazon has the MTS160, MTS200S, but the new 2013 MTS250S
    • There is a link to a manual on the Everlast site (from Dec 2012) for the MTS200/200S/250S, but the manual itself only seems to explain the MTS200 and MTS250S (though the cover page makes mention of the MTS160). There is also a link (from July 2011) to a manual for the MTS160/200S
    • I've seen videos (links were posted in another thread) reviewing a MTS210, which I can't find on sale anywhere.

I'm assuming the 'S' suffix refers to synergic, and therefore I had assumed that the MTS200S is an update to the MTS200. But the manual for the MTS200 is newer than the MTS200S manual, which tells me the opposite. And the availability of the MTS200S on eBay and Amazon, but not on the Everlast site, confuses me.

The MTS200S doesn't seem to have a setting for a spool gun, while the MTS200 does. The MTS200S also does not seem to have settings for up/down slope, pre/post flow, or foot pedal as the MTS200 does. MTS200 and MTS250S appear to have the ability to save settings in memory.

So I'm just trying to figure out what is what. Not that a machine with a one year older or newer design is a big deal, I'm just trying to understand the selection. Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here is the face and look of the MTS 200S model. As you can see it is full synergic spool gun capable.
    Cheers
P.S I think it may even be on sale on some of our local forums we sponsor .

Nice! So if I order from Amazon or the Everlast eBay store, is this what I would get? Because this isn't what the photos show at this time, and the MTS200S is not even listed on Everlast's own site.

When you say "some of our local forums we sponsor", whom do you mean?

I'm hoping to put together the scratch to purchase a MIG machine in the next few months, and I think my primary candidates are now the IMig 205/205P and the MTS200S - each of which has their own little 'extra' features. And who knows - by the time I'm ready to make my purchase, maybe the new digital MIG will be available to consider as well. Thanks!

Thanks Oleg - that clears it up! A bit of a shame for me (being in the US), though - the 200S shown above looks like exactly what I wanted - not quite as big as the 250S, but with all the bells, whistles, features and knobs for me to play with.

Default Any possibility of a backorder list with dates?

Thank you, those in the know, for information as it comes available. It looks like there are a lot of moving pieces and any information, even from other markets, is beneficial.

It would be awesome if the forum had some kind of current model backorder list with projected availability dates. It may be a handy (call-reducing) resource for those on waiting lists. I understand there are no guarantees, and I'm not asking for even daily updates. Any semi-realistic date would be better than nothing. Welders-in-waiting could see the date as it changes and be able to plan accordingly. If things get pushed back a month then so be it. It is what it is. If folks know the list is updated, say, every other Friday then we'll know where and when to check.

If every 10th viewer of the backorder list would have called, that's "n" fewer calls to what sounds like really busy folks. I've called. It sounds like a madhouse. I feel bad asking the same question as 50 others have earlier in the day.

Personally, I'm not in a big rush. It's a hobby for me. However, I will be both moving to a place with no garage and selling my old (red box) unit. I just need to know when to sell my old unit, and what projects may need to be abandoned before the move. My need for a shipping date isn't that serious, but I'll bet there are others who could benefit from a little heads up for planning purposes as well.

From the outside looking in a simple list updated every week or two could really help. Perhaps a "sticky" (with miggy & tiggy) thread?
Or, does such a list/site already exist and I'm looking like a noob ?

For those who wait to test: Thank You! I'd rather wait for an additionally QA'd product any day.
