    Default Forum Running Slow

The forum is running very slow right now. I've been getting errors for several but it hasn't been slow until now. Click image for larger version.

Too funny, I use the command prompt too. I hope Microsoft never removes that functionality.

I too have been noticing that it is very slow. The command line talk is intriguing as I spend a lot of time in it. MS would be causing a lot of problems of they removed it. I also use Linux everyday and spend a lot of time using a terminal.

Slow is an understatement. From what I can see MS is doing more with cmd line functions than ever before. It seems that virtually every new GUI tool just outputs PowerShell commands now. Sure makes scripting things easier.

powershell is a little different but still a cli interface. Server 2012 by default installs without a GUI now. You have the option to install it through the powershell if you wish but just about everything can be done without the GUI.

I was thinking it was my computer or internet connection the last few days! I even got fed up and stayed offline after getting "Connectivity issues" messages. I should have realized that the other forums I'm on are working much faster (Duh!)! That's why I'm just a regular nerd and not a computer nerd! I'd have an easier time translating German than reading and understanding command lines on MS!

Not to be the sore thumb in the bunch but the forum works perfectly well for me. As well as it ever did anyways. It seems fast enough and there's no lag. Could it be regional or host related? I'm on 6Mbps cable and it's throttled so I don't even get all the bandwidth but can still surf like nobody's business.

Are you absolutely sure you don't have a worm, adware or an resource issues? I agree that this forum is very ram hungry with all the nice little features but I like it like that. Try pinging your DNS server and if you get similar results you'll know it's on your side for sure.

The problem is at this forum only and is affecting many other members.

It's also on the website. Mine wasn't running slow at first, but now it is crawling, if it moves at all.

It wasn't our update and we weren't told of it either until we asked.

Gotta love hosts.. They still have been able to do it without causing the lag or at least causing the lag at specific times rather than causing lag all the time. Either way, thanks for letting us know.
