SOMEONE HAS DELETED MY OLD POST ON THE FORUM!!! So now when I look up an old conversation about my plasma cutter burning up I cannot find what I need to! What is up with that?

I don't see any posts deleted. But your posts show you don't have a plasma cutter, but a 256. The 256 thread is up but it isn't "burned up" but it did break. What info did you need?

When you're signed in you can use the Advanced Search option. (You can use it when you're not signed in but the search requires you to answer authentication questions.) Under "Search For" I entered "Rectified" in the "User name" field- that returns all the posts that you've started.
You can search for threads you've participated in by entering your name in the Keyword field- but since "rectified" is a welding term you'll also get a hit on any thread that uses that word.
Did you get the machine running?

No, you can't use it with any air compressor. You need at LEAST 5.0 cfm at 90 psi and at that it will barely keep up. And I personally recommend at least a 25 gallon reserve. If you are trying to use a pancake, it will burn up again.

The book does not say I need a 25 gallon reserve. It only says 0.2-0.4MPA. HAHA Ill let you know how it goes. I have to cut a circle out of SS. Im not gonna do it with a jig saw. I have added a 10 gallon reserve. I will cut until the compressor kicks in then stop. At least that is my plan.
Well, that's not correct and it will burn up the torch in short order. The unit is designed to cut out if the air pressure drops to 35 psi or so. I do not see that recommendation in the manual. It also depends upon the torch. Any plasma manufacturer would void the warranty if their unit is used with too little air. Have you downloaded the official manual from the website or are you using the chinese box leaflet? That's not even enough PSI to make the A81 torch work right. We've discussed the needs of the cutters here repeatedly. That torch needs 70 psi or more to operate.

That is funny because yes the leaflet says to set the pressure to 0.2-0.4Mpa. I have not tested the cut out or cut off psi but that is good information to know. Yes I do have the manual for the torch and unit from the web. I see what went wrong before now. If I convert 0.2-0.4Mpa to psi that is between 30 and 60 psi. So I set it to 65 psi figuring for some pressure drop. I ran the A81 with to low pressure. Bad leaflet. Mark you are great, thanks. Lets do some math...I have an S75 now Oleg told me the A81 would not work with my new PP256, I have the manual saying it consumes 150 liters per min at 5bar (5x15psi=75psi). Well I am in the USA so It will use 5.3CFM. Since one min has 60 secs I need to divide either of those numbers by 60 to get the amount of air consumption per second 150/60 ...5 halfs or 2.5Liters per second!!!! WOW that is a soda bottle + in a second. So how many soda bottles (2liters) are in 12 gallons (45 liters) ( my capacity neglecting the lines etc..) 45/2.5 is 18 seconds to deplete my capacity of air. Well this isn't so because the pressure will surely drop below usable before that point...so lets do the math for the pressure drop and figure out just how long I could use this torch. Just kidding...Ill post pics later.
The s45 worked perfect. I used 40amps set regulator to about 90psi ran it till pressure dropped to compressor cut in around 80psi. At first I cut about 2 inches playing it safe. I was able to get about 7 inch cuts at a time around the SS keg. Project was a success. thanks
