Nothing silly about it. I recommend this to customers all the time. I go so far as to even tell customers to make color coded dots that coincide with different setting favorites. For years, this has been a common practice in the industry.
I quickly made up a drawing of the new 2013-PowerTig 250 EX front cover that could be put in the owner’s manual for saving settings instead of marking the face of the welder.
The owner of the machine could make copy’s and put them in a binder for reference or something.
