Thread: Everlast PowerTig 210EXT - saving settings

  1. Default Everlast PowerTig 210EXT - saving settings

I just realized this unit does not save 2T/4T/stick, polarity, AC waveform, HF/lift start, or pulse on/off. It saves the parameters like pre/post gas, start/end amps, up/down slope in 2T/4T mode but it doesn't remember if it's 2T or 4T. It remembers AC freq, AC balance, and weld amps but not polarity or waveform. For each memory slot, I have to remember if I had HF on or off, pulse on or off, if I had it in 2T or 4T or stick, if it was AC or DC+ or DC-, and what waveform. Is this normal?

    Thanks,
    Paul

Yes, Paul, we've had discussions about it before. But with the limited number of memory slots, I don't think they were thinking about whether someone remembered if they were in 2T or not. In fact that would make sense to me because that's something you may change for the situation, without wanting to mess up programming. As for stick...not much there to remember, unless it is the hot start time or amps. Polarity is mute if it is in AC or DC mode (as it will save AC freq and balance) You're only going to weld in one DC mode. It should not allow you to save DC+ in TIG mode for sure.

Ok, I really don't use the memory anyways... It looked odd at first.

    thanks,

It was intended that you'd go to AC or DC first to pull your memory settings I believe.

It makes sense to me that it would allow for more generalized settings rather than saving the settings based on projects. Saving all settings based on projects could require a lot of memory banks.
