Nice picks. Never welded with the 200DX, but it is the LX and EX with a tad less power for me, I do not use the features of the LX and EX.
I would say, if I did not work here and had to cover all bases. That is the best price line-up no doubt for almost anything one would need to weld.
I have 7 machines running right now
The IMIG 200 and a spool gun is a money maker for the price. PP50 best in its weight class.

When I read the thread title I just had to look and see what the problem was ... glad you were just kidding ... I've got the one on the far left that I picked up for aluminum and SS ... great unit!

Boy you got my heart beating just when I was getting the hang of all the good comments and reports about Everlast machines and about to buy some Everlast welding products.

I haven't touched the mig and plasma yet. But I have plenty of hours on the 200dx. I have to go get my compressor out of storage and a CO2 bottle.

Nice set of machines. I can't wait to get everything I need/want and working to my personal preference. I am interested in seeing how you like the Imig as I opted to go with an MTS unit. It seems others like the Imig but I don't see much posted about the MTS unit. Personally I like the MTS unit for MIG and think that it works pretty well.

It's a preference thing for me. I like everything ready to go. Someone comes in, we throw a switch, do the job, collect and send them off with a smile.
The multi-process units, you have to swap things around, but you same money and take up less space. Tradeoffs I guess. Also, something fails on the MTS and you are out all the functions until it's repaired.

I'm not a welder by trade. I just use them for hobby stuff. I am going to build a cart for all 3 to fit on.
I like the idea of being able to do anything I want to. Having a MIG, TIG, and Plasma about covers it all.

I love my everlast welders as well. Im hoping to get a Mig SOON..... seems the new Migs got bumped till next run after the new Tigs. I dont know I can wait much longer and may end up having to bite the bullet and pick up a disposable Mig (horror freight) to hold me over till the Everlasts are available. I had a little puke come up just thinking the thought!

I need a MIG.... which one to buy:
I-Mig 160, I-Mig 200, or a MTS 160
Show Off I've got the Imig 200 and a cheap 50 amp plasma cutter and I'm eyeing one of the Tig units as well. Seems like a great combination that will do it all for the most part. If only I could get my wife to go for another toy...
IMig 200
I definitely like the ideas of different machines also. I actually have never used the MTS for anything other than MIG and intended it for MIG only but with the option to use it as DC TIG in the event I need to is appealing to me also. Is there any weld quality differences that are noticeable between the MTS units and the IMigs?

No welding difference I've seen. Some of the MTS units have a synergic feature.

I’m a big fan of multiple units myself … and redundancies so it something happens to a machine in the middle of a project you can finish the project with the same type machine w/o waiting for repairs on the machine you started with … I love consistency in everything.

Jason,
Two things I've done, just a thought.
Look on Craigslist for a welder being sold with a tank, pull the tank (make sure they are not rental tanks) and re-sell the welder. You will be surprised what you might get.
Also, my local Praxair guy has people come in to sell tanks all the time, he took my card as they can not take the owner tanks (well do not want them; they like to sell them) and he passes my number to them.
