Audio Visual Table/Workstation

I've just finished tacking my first welding project! At work we needed an audio visual workstation. It ended up being 6' long by 2' wide and the table top is at 41" high before wood. It also has an extended piece at the back that rises 20" above the table top to hide the computer monitors and sound board. I'm still trying to decided if I'm going to enclose the sides and back with wood or metal, or possibly a combination. The whole project is 1.5" square tube .120 wall. The everlast Imig200 was great and I ran it all day and never hit the duty cycle! I was surprised that everything ended up square and level, even with my shops uneven concrete. Now on to fully welding all the joints sanding and painting. I'm really enjoying welding especially over woodworking. Thanks everlast for making a product that the average person can afford and that works flawlessly. Below are some pictures and I'll post more when it's done.

Here is the finished project minus stain on the back of one board. I welded tabs to the inside of the frames so I could recess my wood for a more finished look. I'm a fan of the Rustoleum Hammered finish paint now. Goes on smooth and hides small imperfections and grinding marks. I've decided that I really like welding and metalworking but don't like painting and didn't enjoy working with the wood. So far, I'm impressed with the Imig and I think this project turned out pretty good for my first welding adventure.

Turned out real nice! I bought a couple of cans of hammered finish paint a few weeks ago. I haven't it used it yet but I sure hope it comes out as nice as it did on your project.

It's kind of tricky with the paint. If you spray too lightly it doesn't get much of the hammered effect. You have to go heavy, almost to the point of running and you get a nice texture. If you can lay your project horizontal you can easily get it on pretty thick without risk of runs.

Thanks for the tips. I kinda figured it would have to go on fairly thick but you've verified it for me. I gotta say again, great job on that project.
