I'm a long time tigger since 1978. Spent the last 15 years using a Lincoln Tig 355! Great machine, but huge... Now I'm downsizing and can't wait to use the PowerTig 250EX.
I do a lot of auto welding: custom radiators, frames, front suspensions...

That's certainly a larger machine. The difference will be huge. I think it will be a good match though.

I do not know if the power company will thank him but the power bill may put a smile on his face. My friend with his Lindy 300 is jealous of my power consumption on the 250 EXT. The old Lindy welder trips a 90 amp breaker set at about 225 Amps AC.

Yes, the Lincoln tig355 idled at 60 amps. Would pretty much stay the until around 250. Of course, the 410 max amps was nice for an occasional burst. Haha.
