Thread: 2013 Updated Supercut 50P

  1. Default 2013 Updated Supercut 50P

I have not been able to get any information as to what the updates are for the new 2013 model of the Supercut 50P. The only information that I have been able to obtain is there have been internal updates. Does anyone know what exactly what the changes are?

None for the SC 50. They are the same.

That's strange, because I was told by Oleg that there were internal changes on the Supercut 50P, but he wasn't sure exactly what they were because he wasn't a tech. That is why I am trying to find out from someone more on the tech side of the business.

Will the MOSFET machines be phased out in favor of the IGBT models?

Hi Oleg, during our communication, you had told me there were a few internal updates to the new 2013 model of the Supercut 50P, but you could not/would not tell me what they were, because you stated you were not a tech. I thought someone on the technical side of things could answer my question. I apologize for asking the question, because this is apparently a touchy subject that no one wants to answer. I am not sure about anyone else, but when I am making a high cost purchase of a piece of equipment, I like to know what I am getting, and it concerns me when I can't get a clear answer regarding changes that have been made. If you read reviews on a piece of equipment, and they are all pretty much good reviews, but then you find out that things have been changed, how can you base your purchase decision off of those reviews?

I apologize for trying to acquire information to help me make an informed purchase decision, and I won't ask any further questions regarding these changes

The PowerPlasma series are IGBT. The PowerPlasma 50 is the unit you buy if you want IGBT and better performance and more features. So, I guess if you want something significant, you buy the PowerPlasma. It is the upgrade of the SC 50P in that sense. No reason to really change the SC50's into igbt or make significant design additions/changes when we have the PP50.

All (good) products go through minor periodic modifications to help enhance durability or serviceability. From all that I have read about the 2013 product changes, nothing major was planned for the Supercut 50P. The new Supercut 50Ps should be as good if not slightly better than the ones you have been reading about. My 2 cents.

Actually this is partly my doing with this bit of confusion. I spoke to Oleg while i was working at the factory the other week and i mentioned to him that some components where being moved from there present location . It was a little difficult hearing at the time and this may be where the confusion comes from. So strictly speaking there are some changes to the unit but really only for convienience and not perfromance
