Default Questions about the New winter time fun contest

I didn't see a post with questions about the current contest (I apologize if I overlooked it), so I thought I'd ask my (dumb) questions here since this is my first contest. I figured here would be a good place for the topic since it is within a few posts of the contest entry thread...just in case others want to "piggyback" their contest questions here so all the info is in the same thread.

First question goes like this: I have liked Everlast on FB and signed up for Twitter to do the same, but I have noticed that in previous contests most of the contestants simply mentioned in their post that they liked Everlast on FB, but no link was included. Should a link to my profile (showing that I did indeed like Everlast) be posted in my final contest post (where I state my number of posts, project links, other entries for the contest, etc)? I don't care that it doesn't count towards an entry, this has REALLY been bugging me.

Second (more important) question: I have a video review that will be posted to youtube as an entry for the contest, and I understand that the link must be posted to my last (closing) contest post with all the other entries you have, but where do I put the link on this site if I just want to share my review with the other forum members?

I see Jody's weldingtipsandtricks.com videos in the TIG section, and some forum members personal videos in many other areas of the forum, so I'm a little confused. Would it be better that I not post a video review here, just one on youtube?

Well the actual video will be on YouTube, Vimeo, or another hosting service. A link or embed of said video here, is always a good thing. As to where to put it, the way I see it, a review could either go in Customer Testimonials, or under one of the welder sections (TIG, MIG, Multi-Process, etc.). Just my opinion.

The video upload to YouTube started 50 minutes ago, so it should be uploaded fully by the end of the contest on the 28th (LOL). Only 439 minutes left...for a 5 minute video! I was thinking of posting in the Customer Testimonial section, but I didn't know what my "supervisors" would think of that. The Tig section would probably get more views, yes?

Might be a good idea in the future to re-encode your video file down a bit, to better suit YouTube sizes and resolutions. Not all videos need to be 1080P HD uncompressed.

Where to put it is kinda content dependent. For a straight review of a TIG machine, it's kinda a coin toss between the two.

uploading videos to youtube can be a real pain. I use to convert them using Premiere pro but now just record them with my wife's camera which has a youtube setting. Saves a lot of time.

    I-Mig 160, I-Mig 200, or a MTS 160

That's a cool feature to have! I thought I received software with my new X-mas camera that allowed me to edit and upload to youtube, but I am not finding it right now. My computer froze up twice during the first 2 times I tried uploading the video.

I ended up downloading a (cheesy) free trial video converter an hour ago, which is a much quicker method of uploading to youtube after resizing, as both of you pointed out. It's my first video ever, so I'm a little disappointed with how it came out, but then again I know nothing about recording, uploading, or editing video!

It is what it is I guess. I've certainly seen much worse video's posted on youtube. Some of the weekly "pros" on there make it look easier than it is.

In the end, I decided to post the video review in the customer testimonial section as it seems that most other reviews were located there. I got the videos uploaded and the post in that section finished late last night, so I didn't update this thread. I forgot to, and instead went straight to bed.
