Default Video Review Stick Welding With PowerTig 200 DX

Short review of the PowerTig 200DX in Stick mode AC at 156 amps , Rod size 5/32" 80T AC plus, Material 8" channel with 3 " channel for ends. This is to support 2 12 ton jacks on a four post lift. Functions the same as a bridge jack just slides instead of rolling along the rails.

Nice video, I like how the slag comes off with no effort. What Type rod are you running.

Also, I have noticed when welding some 5/32" and 3/16" with my 250 EXT, there is some serious heat involved. I am typically MIGing sheet metal (18-12 gauge). There is a serious difference in the amount of heat needed for the sheet metal verses the heat put out when stick welding with the larger diameter rods.

Rod is Messer 80T AC Plus, I purchased about 1500 pounds of it and are trying to use up a couple of broken boxes that were on the pallet. It seems to be a nice rod runs similar to 7018 but not the same specs.
We still have some for sale. If i am correct there are only 3 boxes of 1/8" left. I have a friend who is setting up there salvage yard as a pick and pull and tried some for welding wheel stands together and bought quite a few boxes. They have make up 3000 sets of stands 8 wheels per set welded into 4 stands.

I think the for sale listing is still active on the forum

Wow, that slag pops off in one piece! It looks like it weld nice too! Your video turned out nice as well. The rate on purchasing 1500lbs of rod must be a heck of a lot better than the rate on the 10lb. box I purchased last at Airgas!

My daughter sells unclaimed or lost freight, I look thru and see what i need or can afford the rod looked useful and was in good condition. It was a lot of rod but a lot of friends do iron work or general welding so i passed the savings on to them.

I bet you see some good stuff being sold as lost or unclaimed! It's nice that you having first crack at that merchandise your daughter sells too. Your friends will remember you passing on those savings to them, which comes in handy if you need a helping hand on a Sunday afternoon, or they have a tool that you need to borrow!
