Thread: Supercut 50 p warning light

Have had the same issue with my SuperCut50P twice. The overcurrent light and no arc. It is now back getting serviced and have not heard about it for almost a month now. In my opinion, the Supercut 50P is a low end unit, being Mosfit, and the reliability of this unit is poor. Both times I have had issues with it failing, I was not overworking it and I have both a water trap and desicant filters. Like you said, the manuals with it are crap and written by a 3rd grader in China.
I wish I would have spend a little more money and bought a unit with IGBT.

In reality is should take closer to 45 seconds to fill to be in the safe zone. CFM goes down as pressure goes up. Look on your compressor for it's CFM @ PSI rating. As the Everlast tech posted earlier, if the pressure dropped too low, the torch could have shorted internally.
I checked the cfm....It's rated for 6.3 at 40 psi, and 8.2 at 90 psi.

That would not be possible to have less cfm at 40 psi. Is that backwards?

Well, we've come full circle, other than you are sending it back, I'd say do the test with the torch disconnected, or disabled, and see if the compressor can keep up with the cutter when the trigger is depressed. Your CFM @ 90 is awful close to the minimum requirements.
