fan on cutmaster 205

Hi, my question is when thermal protection comes on when using plasma cutter does the fan come on? The reason im asking cause I hit thermal and no fan but unit cooled off and still worked fine. Any help appreciated.

Cutmaster? We don't have a unit called a cutmaster 205. Is this another brand? Our fans run continuously.
