Thread: SuperUltra 205 3in1 review !! New to the forum ! New to Everlast

  1. Default SuperUltra 205 3in1 review !! New to the forum ! New to Everlast

    Hey everyone,

Just thought I would pop in and give a word on my new 3in1 unit.

Ordered the SuperUltra 205 on Ebay, " On a Saturday " Item arrived to my shop the following Tuesday !!!! Not a bad start
Un-boxed the unit and was very surprised at the contents. Plasma torch, Tig torch and Arc torch were all of decent quality.
My friend had bought a Chinese unit a couple years ago, and it was very "Cheesy" and cheap looking......Not this unit !
The welder unit itself was free from any defects, and was very solid feeling.....Well boxed and no damage whatsoever.

I didn't have my Argon bottle at the time or any Tungsten rods, so I decided to give the plasma a shot. I have a guy at work
that was dying to cut the roof off of his S-10 blazer, so.....Perfect timing.

Assembled the Air regulator, Wired up a 20amp 3 prong 110V plug, and applied some shop air.....ready to go ! Now a couple of notes !!

    Notes:
Make sure you have the correct Male air fitting ready for your shop air supply, as the one sent with the unit is "M" style. We use "C" style....
So ....1/4 npt male/male in your style handy.
Hooking this unit up in 110v will not give your unit full rated power. 220v is much more desirable, cost efficient, gives full rated power, better performance !
I did not have 220 available close by so 110 will have to do for now.
Don't forget....Tig and Plasma are +ground to workpiece and - output to your torch/ electrode. You will have undesired results if you hook ground up to the
    - terminal up to your ground lead. The instructions are not super clear on this.

Pic #1 is the unit hooked up fresh from the box

Pic # 2 & 3 are the plasma doin' work

Pic # 4 is my first TIG weld ever on 24 Guage sheet metal. Not too bad I say...No filler rod, just an overlap melted together.

All in all, this unit has exceeded my expectations in every way !!! Been using it for 2 weeks now.

    Thanks,
    Dwayne
