Great videos Mark. That looks like a really great machine. The control layout and function looks very intuitive. Doing the voice over instead of the camera mike out in the shop really makes it much easier to understand.

You can see as he cycles through the memory settings that the process is one of the items saved. So there are only 10 slots, but they remember everything. Seems like a better option than the 210EXT where only some things are saved, especially for a machine like this that is "Full Auto" for even a novice welder.

According to my fingers and toes, there are only 9 settings. 1-9.

Mark please check Page 17 and 18 in MTS250S Manual (http://www.everlastgenerators.com/do...S_200_250s.pdf) 1-Memory 0-9 settings but still dose not say total or for each Mig, Tig, Stick and Synergic Mig, or Synergic Spool gun? or is it a error in all the manuals that have MEMORY 0-9?

A small error, but shouldn't affect the operation or change people's purchase of it. There are a couple of other clarifications that will go into it, and that will be added...but there's nothing major. The unit does have only 1-9 and it's only 9 total available.

It's not an error in all the manuals. The others, especially the 210 has 0-9, if I remember right.

No, I am not sure where the He came into the equation on this unit. Its set up for 100% argon for aluminum for MIG and Spool.
Synergic setting for aluminum is currently limited to .045 wire. Standard setting though works for other wire diameters.

I went by the manual it said 50XX alum. and .040 minimum for Synergic spool gun. I used 25/75 on my 205P and it worked very well, but I will us 100% argon as you suggested to start. Can I use .045 /4043 aluminum wire, I don't have .045 /50XX just 4043 I have 5356 but it is only .040.

Change my quote I reread the manual.

I went by the manual it said 4043/5356 alum. and .040 minimum with 50XX for setting Synergic Mig gun and plastic liner but I did not see anything on how to set up the Synergic Spool Gun. I used 25/75 on my 205P and it worked very well with .040 4043, but I will us 100% argon as you suggested to start. Can I use .040 /4043 aluminum wire, I don't have any .045 in ether 4043 or 5356 but only .040.
On what page of the manual is the Synergic setting for aluminum say it is limited to .045 wire I missed it or is it on the MTS 250S cover?

Well got the new PowerMTS250S set it up by put 4043 .035 Aluminum wire in the spool gun it is the maximum size the MTS Spool Gun can take buy the tag on the cover. The MTS250S manual said when put in Synergic Spool Gun mode it will default to .040 wire size but it has a .045 light but the factory manual shows .040 in its picture.
On page 24 of the PowerMTS250S manual on how to setup the Synergic and Manual functions:
Number 3, it says( Select the wire diameter of wire being used. Select ALT default unit to full manual mode (MTS250S).)
The factory manual on page 8 of the PowerMTS250S manual on how to setup the Synergic and Manual functions:
Number 3, says (Select the wire diameter of wire being used. Aluminum will default to .040 & ALT. so that the wire will not jam or birds nest while feeding.)
So never using a MTS250S or Synergic before it is all new to me so what is (ALT).
But just setting it to Synergic Spool Gun mode and wire type to Al 4043/5356 and it Automatically goes to wire size .045 then turned the 100% Argon on and welded for its first time will try more later had to put this in the forum before going in for the night.

    Kempy,
There are a few corrections in that area that need to be made. But it's fairly self explanatory once you start using it. .045 is the only selection, but if you have .040 it should be close as well. The Alt was deleted after the 210S. If you want to restore defaults, just change the unit out of the synergic mode and cycle through the processes until you return. That's one of the corrections that should be made. Another is that the synergic feature has changed a little from the 210S which was used in part to base the manual on...the amperage/wirespeed feed is NOW the control knob, that adjusts the voltage up or down automatically instead of the voltage adjusting the wire speed. Of course you can override and make a new adjustment at anytime, setting a new ratio of wire speed/voltage for the welding session that will be remembered short term, if things are to your likeing.

The bead you have looks good, but it unfortunately does not appear to be in spray. Spray itself is a quiet MIG mode, with light hum or hiss. If you hear the spattering sound of short circuit while welding aluminum, you are not welding it correctly with MIG. Spray transfer is the only acceptable process. I suggest turning up the wire speed.

Well that clear up a few things thanks. I upped the wire speed but nothing happen but found out the wire speed is on the side of the spool gun on the spool gun for my Power I Mig 205p it is not connected to anything. Got the wire speed up to almost the end and it just hums and hiss a little no splatter at all I did not even clean the work before or after welding it, see picture.
I will get some time later and try steel and stainless with the spool gun in Synergic and Manual mode just need practice. I like the PowerMTS250S and MTS Spool gun very much. Just wish they would have put the inlet gas fitting to one side or bottom it hits the Argon tank but it not to bad I have to move the welder to one side to get the door open anyway.
