Thread: Blade Runner

    Default Blade Runner

Last Christmas I picked up a Blade Runner by Rockwell from Lowes. My reasoning was I wanted something with the basic functionality of a band saw but I didn't want it to take up a lot of room. Since it's basicaly an inverted jig saw it can be a little tricky to use but I have used it to cut everything from this aluminum sheet metal, 1/2" polycarbonate, steel and aluminum round and square pipe up to 1" thick and tonight 0.180" steel plate. It took about 10 minutes to rip a 1"x18" strip from a plate I had but I was able to make a straight clean cut. If your looking for a multi-use tool for materials 1" and smaller this is a pretty good compromise!

"1 inch and smaller" sure covers a lot of ground... I'll have to look into that.

That 3rd picture is 0.1" galvanized. I cut it flat then bent it up. I have them laser cut now but for proto work it was great!
