    Default My new 185 tig

Like to say, my 185 came in the mail yesterday. I was really impressed,no damage what so ever. Figured shipping from Cali. to South Carolina they would be a scratch or two Lol....This unit is very nice, and it did come pre wired with a pig tail adapter 110/220. Had a chance to try it out a little last night....man this machine is impressive. For the little bit of time i used it i was already welding like i had been useing it for years. Easy to set up, not to many features.(I'm not really in to turning a bunch of buttons to do a job). Big thanks to Everlast...... Benny

    Welcome aboard Benny,

I have not used the 185 myself, but have no problem with all the knobs. Glad you like the welder. Post up picture projects when you can.

Thanks Mike,I'm pretty sure the new machine is a good bit different than the old machine. From my understanding, the old machine useing the pedal went 0-185 amps and was not conrolled by the knob on machine.. Im pretty sure the new ones, amps can be conrolled by the knob. For me thats a lot better more control of the arc with out burning up your tungsten (1/16)...Or at least my experence useing this machine....Have to say this machine has great arc control...was welding razerblades no problem....now just getting myself back used to tig.. Thanks Benny

I have thought about getting a PY185 for some time. I had the PT160STH and loved it. Just no AC. You can not beat the 160 or 185 for the price, period.

We do not have a bad machine, but the price per features (I see AC as a feature), you have a winner.

Quit teasing me! I've been eying the 185 for 6 or 8 months now, I just didn't have the funding to purchase it when I bought my 160 STH. It sounds like the latest edition of the 185 has stick welding capability and a few minor upgrades (like the pigtail and pre-wired plug), so maybe it's good that I didn't get one of last years models. I miss Tig welding without A/C!

Congrats on your new machine! I'm "green" with envy!

New Everlast PowerTig 250EX that is begging for me to come up with a few welding projects so it can stretch it's legs. Did someone say aluminum???

Everlast always find a way to make the machine better. Normally design and features. Waiting is good in a lot of case, but I still use a 2+ year old 250EX and 3+ years old IMIG and been machine money with them for years. So sometimes the wait cost you income. You can always well the weld and bye another later as well.

Does it come with a stinger for the SMAW? I'm thinking of getting one but I just can't find one with EVERYTHING I want lol, I'm getting super close to buying a welder. Everlast has cought my eye with a few of the machines, but I want a tig/stick welder with AC, that comes with everything ready to go!
