I calculated my expense one these bars ... so far I used up 5 and a half feet of re-bar my cost 10.90 and 8 feet of 1 ½ X 1/8” flat stock apx. $7 or so (I believe) at this point I have $17.90 and I’ll probably put in another $10 bucks for mounts and a pad lock so my total cost on materials should be no more around $30 per set including paint. The price I mentioned before was was just a guess on materials to that point … I broke out the calculator and figured it out ... still in all … cheap insurance.

oops my bad ... I meant 2 and a half 5 foot sections of re-bar (12' total apx give or take a little) I bought 12 - 5' pieces 60' total for $29.90. but I est. of $30 total cost for the window bars is pretty accurate.

Actually to clarify that I did two sets of window bars so double the amount of material ... my first est. was close the two would be around $30 or so ... was fun to make that was the BEST part. I'm going to set it up with three pins that drop into holes and the fourth mount will be a pad lock covered so no one can take bolt cutters to it ... the pins will be too thick for bolt cutters (and least reasonable size ones). I love Coyote Steel Co.if I had gone to a hardware store it would have cost 4 or 5 times more. When I buy from Coyote the prices are so good I but in bulk saves me a lot.

Just off of a main street where there is a low income apt complex full of tweekers and gang land central ... our neighbors are OK but a block away ... not so much. I've put in cameras, a security system, cyclone fence, reinforces frames around dead bolts, center shafts on sliding doors and now bars ... paranoid? Perhaps, ready to take out scum bags? Absolutely!

Nice project and video Winky. Maybe time for a 205P Better 250p. Far as the scumbags, the Ruger should help out there Mark's blade idea is good. How about AC power to it as well They can shake and get all cut up on them. It will save you a couple rounds.
