Well just when I think I know which unit I want, I see an ad for a multi pro 205. I do not see it on the everlast home page. Is it an older model? Is it a good unit? Thanks.

IGBT ones do except dual phase units and 210ext. I do not know about the Mosfet. You can call and ask

A year ago I purchased a multipro 205 under the assumptions it was the same/similar to the Power Ultra 205 just blue. My multipro 205 recently failed while using the plasma cutter process but I think it was defective from the start. I am aware that this is an entry level unit but I am a bit confused about the markings on the case of the multipro 205. As you can see in the pictures it clearly states on the side of the box "IGBT inverter technology". This can be very confusing for the consumer, especially when there is not much information to be found on this model unit. Prior to purchasing this unit I did research to insure I was going to get something that was going to last and didn't find anything on these units failing. However, if the sales listing would have stated it was a mosfet, I would have avoided this inconvenience of a failed unit and purchased a more expansive IGBT unit. I am now waiting for the RMA process to either repair or replace my failed unit but I would have much rather spent the money this will cost me on a better one from the beginning . As always. you get what you pay for. Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not upset with EVERLAST or their products. I'm upset with myself for taking a chance to save a buck and not buying a machine that was definitely IGBT.

I am really sorry to hear of the difficulty. The logo is a set company logo, as we have tried to explain before. It wasn't mean to mislead, but because we focus on that product technology, it was included as part of the logo design. If you go to Kentucky Fried chicken, and buy a fish sandwich, or to Captain D's Seafood, to buy chicken strips the companies won't change their logos/names on the sign, or the boxes the food comes in for one small product. It's simply part of the Everlast corporate logo design, and is screen printed on all our welders. Hope there's no hard feelings.

Good Morning, I have two questions. Is there a date that the new multi purpose units are expected to arrive and the inline air dryer that is needed for plasma cutting,what exactly is it? I'm assuming it is something between the compressor and the unit?Thank You

It is a device to remove water vapor from the compressed air. Yes it does go between the compressor and the plasma cutter. There are many types that will work ranging from high end refrigerated dryers to fine pore filters like Motorguard, and desiccant type filters with silica gel. Also there are things you can use between the compressor pump and the tank to help reduce water. What you need is very dependant on your air system, usage, and climate. Having clean dry air in sufficient volume and pressure, is essential to getting the best from your plasma cutter. You can search this forum to see a lot of examples.

Well the sales listing didn't say it was IGBT so I can understand it being a company logo. I also understand that with all things electronic these days there is bound to be defective units but what is the life expectancy of the multipro 205? In the time I owned my machine, I only used the plasma cutter feature and I hadn't even used up one set of consumables.

Life expectancy is all going to be based off of how you use it. There's no way to really say, except we'll warranty it if something happens during the first 5 years.
