Thread: iTig 200t

  1. Default iTig 200t

So far I'm very pleased with it, the arc was very smooth and stable and the pulse is great. I just need to get better consumables, Ive always used a gas lens, but none of my consumables fit, so I tried to weld with what came with the torch... I used the wrong cup for the wrong application and porosity city! I've never had porosity with tig welding, so imagine my surprise! lol I'll be heading to the store to get the right consumables, which is what I should have done in the first place.

Once I get it going correctly, I'll do a video review, showing off the unit. I have to get used to welding with an inverter machine though, as I have always used a transformer type.

I'm really looking forward to what you have to say about this welder since it is so new and has such exciting features to offer.

There are kits under $65 ready to go. google "gas stubby 17H" and you should find it, they take paypal.

Make sure it fits your torch. He lists what it fits. Also weldingcity.com.

Local will be faster but cost more, take the torch with you and fit it all up.

Actually if you go to the Everlast Canada site you will find a stubby kit that includes a good selection of tungsten for $ 45.00

It was TIGdepot not weld.com, I just looked. Also note there are some that have one collet and collet holder per size and some with a universal collet holder. The universal would seem like less work and ware on the torch. I use a stubby and gas lens on the WP20.

This is the kit we supply including the tungsten sizes for the stubby kit
We also have a few other kits available for both the 17 series and the 20 series torches including gas lens kits,
With the price and what is supplied in our kits we end up going through a lot of these each month. In fact we have had to double our order quantity to keep up with demand.
We actually have to use 3 different suppliers in order to get the pricing so we can keep our retail price lower . Even the plastic box needs to be purchased separately and not from a single source .
Our last order of tungsten has had a price increase and you can expect tungsten in general to start costing more as it is becoming a scarce commodity.
    Cheers

Duncan, do you have a rough idea on price to US customers? Also, are these stubby only, no gas lens?

I believe the pricing on the website includes shipping. If you are in the USA you may have to email as we normally do not advertise selling anything in the US as we leave this for You guys to take care of. Right now the kits are only available in Canada so we will ship to any USA customers until you guys have them in stock.
We have all kits available I only showed 2 kits in the pictures one being the gas lens kit and the other the stubby kit using the same parts as the WP 9 , WP 20 .
    Cheers

Thanks for the info Duncan, sure you'll be getting some US calls. I'm all set here myself, stubby with gas lens on the WP20 and WP18. But I am sure there are a lot of TIG guys that would like to get a gas lens or smaller profile. Even on the WP18, it saves buying a new torch and is almost a small as a stock WP20.
