  1. Default Hello form Deep South Texas!

My name is Jay and I live in Mission Texas. I recently started welding and my 20yo Century AC 100 stick welder died so I purchased a PA 160 STH. I am excited to start Tigging and I am looking forward to learning. My first project, and why I started welding, is a stainless cart for my hat steamer. Yes I am a hatter as well and make custom western and fedora hats out of beaver fur felts. My second project will be hat racks for my displays.

Hey that's cool! I've never come across a hatter before. I would really like to see your work - both the hats and welding projects!

    Welcome aboard Jay.

Looks like the website is still under development. Best of luck in your business, I think you will do well.

Was looking to see what a Fedora hat was as compared to a cowboy hat. Assume that is the flat brimmed hat? I did not know about the X factor, so you do learn something new everyday.

Post up some projects with and without the welder (if you have time). I myself would like to see the process of making a hat and also what the raw material looks like, beaver and wild hare. I can move them to the right category since the hats would not be welding projects if need be.

Enjoy the 160STH, I sold mine to a friend, can not beat it for the price for sure.
