I agree. About 80% of the settings on the machine are not needed for someone who is just starting out.
For learning on Aluminum welding, Set the frequency somewhere between 50-100Hz, set the balance to about the 9 o'clock position, adjust your post flow to something you are comfortable with and leave them all there. Then the only thing you really need to dial in is the current.
