Retro fitting a plasma cutter for a new torch - not Everlast
Probably the wrong forum section but I need some help.
The shop that I work at has an older Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 80 (?) that one of the shop hands managed to break the torch head after melting the cup - I have no idea how he managed this other than maybe trying to pierce 1" or thicker steel, maybe forgot to connect the ground. Thus I have the only plasma cutter, and I am wired to run off my welder only, not shop power.
OEM replacement parts are discontinued and they want $500+ for a compatible complete torch assembly.
Anybody know how to retro fit a different brand or what is compatible? The OEM torch is hard wired into the machine - no quick disconnect/removal. I can find Trafimet torches all day for $250.
TIA
