Railroad spike coat rack

I had a lot of stuff laying around, so I put it together. It ended up looking like this. The base is a tie plate.

That's very cool. What is the 'finish' on steel? It almost looks like it's been powder coated.

That's Rust-Oleum's Hammered version of paint. It's called bronze, but looks a lot more silver than bronze to me.

It's a pretty nice finish.

No, I cheated.

I put a box under the tie plate to hold it at the height I wanted and shimmed it a little to get the tie plate sitting on it level.

The I put the feet in the holes of the tie plate at about the angle I wanted them to be at and welded them in place.

So rather than trying to level the base with the feet, I added feet to a level base.
