Thread: Got a new torch with Superflex hose-WOW!!

  1. Default Got a new torch with Superflex hose-WOW!!

Based on recommendations I took the plunge.

I got the torch from USA weld. Paul built the torch and shipped it to me the same day, Thanks Paul!

It is so much easier to use. The lighter weight and extra flexibility make it much easier to manipulate in tight places. I couldn't be happier!

Thanks to all for the advice and thanks to Paul for the great service!

    What did you get ?
    2013 250EX : SSC Pedal : I-MIG 250P 20' Profax gun : Power Plasma 60 p80 torch : 3M Speedglas 9100XX : Evolution Rage 3 DB cold saw

Good move! I did the same thing and got a 25ft CK9. It instantly made me a into better welder, not having to wrestle with the WP26. I still need to extend the pedal and ground leads to make full use of the extra length.

I've got a wp-20 on my current tig. I'm pretty sure when I get my hands on an Everlast system I'm going to get a flex torch for it.

  5. Default

I got a 17. Its a perfect size for me. I was thinking about the 9, but I like the size and feel of the 17. Its not too big.

    Couldnt be happier!

I need to get some arc time with the WP-20 and see if I like that or if I want to try other torches. I'm just waiting on new helmets and consumables to show up.

I bought 1 for me and 1 for my wife. We're both planning to take the beginners welding class next year so she needed her own helmet. There's a deal going on right now for rebates on some of the 3M helmets so I went ahead and just ordered both.

I'm very happy with my 9100xx, I really like the side windows.

I just got my Speedglas a couple of weeks ago on that deal. Love it, just don't forget to turn it on! Didn't have to remember that with my cheapo solar one.

That was one of the reasons I bought the Miller Elite Auto ON and OFF or if you want you can turn it OFF when you are finished or it will turn OFF in 45 minutes the batteries latest with the solar helping about 3000 hr. overall I like it. The 3M Speedglas are more money in Canada then the Miller. Good luck (Breakneckmoto) with you and the wife on you welding classes, a little help goes a long way and practice.

That USAWeld.com looks like a great site! I haven't seen that one before. I like the fact that they have the torches that directly fit the Everlast welders. I guess if for some reason Everlast doesn't have what I want in stock, I have a "Plan B" now. As for the superflex hose and torch setup, I can't wait to get the new machine I've been dreaming of so I can make a choice on a nice torch. Hopefully one day a water-cooled torch setup too! Come on lottery ticket!

One guy did but I don't remember the thread. The supplied torches don't have quite the same rating or duty cyle as CK but the superflex lead would make them easier to use.

I am waiting to see what the cable that comes with the 255EXT is like and if I don't mind it then I wont swap it. Rating wise, I have not had any issues with the torches I got from Everlast but that is good information to know incase I do ever run into that. From the sounds of it, the supplied torches with the 255EXT should be plenty for what I want/need other than maybe the cables but we shall see when the units get to us.

Our version of Ck's superflex btw. Superflex is a trademark by CK...so maybe we call it by a different name? How about Extra Flex? lol.

The torch my 250 EXT came with is much like a super flex torch. I am hoping the same type torches will be supplied with the 255 EXT. Anyway, if these are the torches Oleg is speaking about, they are quite nice.
