    Default Now the waiting begins

Finally pulled the trigger on a new Imig 200 and a Itig 200 DX. Now I have to search the web for cart ideas. Need it wide enough at the back for 2 bottles.

A fine choice of machines, congrats! What size bottles are you thinking to carry on the cart? 330s could get a touch heavy.

I use a Q size for my mig and I think I am going to get a S size for the tig. Not really sure how much I will use. With my mig the Q or 80 cf seems to last me 6 - 12 months. Depends on what projects are being done. Unfortunately I can only buy a Q size tank and anything bigger is lease. I know the first argon bottle I will go through fast learning how to use the Tig. I think I might lease one for the first year to see how much I will use. 5 minutes and I can pick another one up unless it is the weekend. It is $65 to fill a Q and $100 to fill a S so the larger is the better deal but still expensive compared to what you guys pay in the States.

Sounds like a great combo. If you are trying to keep the cart narrow, some have the bottles lined up fore and aft.

I have to make good use of what space I have in my Garage. With working on sleds, milling machine and lathe , beer fridge(most important) and welders , space can be at a premium. I have what looks like a huge cart in my shop. but it is what I use to store my sleds in the summer. They stay in the garage year round, to many issues with mice in the years past. The problem is that I have no where to put the cart when the sleds are off. It is a double deck storage cart. One sled in the bottom. Tilt the top deck down and winch the second sled on top. Tilt it back down and the ramp at the back acts as part of the frame to support the weight of the sleds and fold down to lock into the bottom. So when the sleds are off it becomes one of those valuable flat surfaces where stuff seems to migrate over winter.

Now what I was thinking the other day was that I need some sort of table that I can use when I am using the tig. Looking at the side of the sled rack I figured I could make a table on there and make it so when not in use it will fold down on the side. I have fire blankets I can put on there when the sleds are in place during the summer. Just got to move a few sleds out so I can make some room to build this thing. I think 24-36" wide and 48" long by 36" high should give me a decent table. Make it out of 1x1x.125 and steel top should be sturdy enough. The rack it self must be close to 600 pounds or more.
