  1. Default New tig machine on order but.....

Well, I put a tig machine on my wish list this year. I was going to get with the Everlast team here on the board and order one but my wife went ahead and ordered one up on Amazon. Is this still going to be an okay way of getting a new machine? I never thought to tell her that it might be best to order directly.

Headed to the hardware store tomorrow to pick up some electrical items. I plan on putting a 240 volt plug on the machine cord and making up a very short 120 volt cord to plug into this for those times I want to use 120 volt.

Coming up on my 3rd 20th birthday and still feel like a kid before Christmas!
    Take care, Bill

As I understand it, Amazon is just another distribution mechanism for the SF office, so there should be no difference. Congrats on the new machine! And good on your wife for Christmas presents that make you wait for Christmas like a kid!

Wowsers! The big brown truck dropped off an Everlast box this afternoon. The gubberment should take a couple lessons from Amazon. Less than 36 hours from order to arrival here in N Michigan. That is a fast and smooth interweb experience for sure!!

Geezer, ever read "My pretty pony" by Stephan King? It speaks to how time goes faster as the years pile on, in a bit of a twisted way of course. Thanks for the above comments. I will toss some photos up after I get a few beads laid down probably after the first of the year.
    Regards, Bill

Now for the big question: do you have to wait for December 25 to open the box and tried it out?

Well, I still need to run some service to the area that I plan on using to plug the machine in and still have to pick up a cylinder of argon. It will be a couple weeks before I am ready. If some time frees up I may ask to open before the 25th but that does seem to fit my time line of when I will actually ready for it.

    Hey Bill,

    Welcome to the Everlast family.

What model did you go with? Also, look on craigslist for combos being sold (welder and tank). Sometime you get lucky. Swap the tank (if with a MIG) and sell off the welder. If not rent a large tank, it will save you money in the long run.

    Hey Mike,
I got the little 140st. I have an area set up to fiddle with it over the winter in my basement. A booth with a "squire cage" blower unit from a furnace for exhaust with sheet metal sides and such. My main work area is unheated and looking at the temp right now it is 15 degrees out. I have a couple mig machines, arc and gas outfits waiting for warmer weather in my pole barn. Hoping to have a floor poured and some heat by next fall in a corner it to use in the future.

I have no real need for a tig but wanted to play with one. I have an argon set up that is borrowed to use with a spool gun on my mig set up but I have to get that back to the guy I borrowed it from. When I get my own I can then swap it back and forth between my mig spool set up and the tig machine. It will also be sweet to be able to have the little Everlast to use here and there with it's dual voltage option.
    Thanks for the welcome!
    Bill
