Thread: Plasma cutter on Powermaster 256 saved the day!

  1. Default Plasma cutter on Powermaster 256 saved the day!

I just bought a winch mounting kit for my ATV and as I started installing it, I could tell that things weren't matching up right. I needed to perform about a dozen alterations of the kit in order to get everything to line up like it should. It really bummed me out at first; I thought I was going to have to be doing grinder work all afternoon and then I remembered the plasma cutter on my Everlast rig. I got it out and hooked it up and made the alterations in about a half hour. I had enough time left over to take a nap!

I'm very pleased with my rig. I'm still learning how to use it and my work looks pretty primitive but each time it gets better and every time I cut or weld, it seems like a learn a trick or two. As soon as I retire in a year, I think I'll take a class or two so that I can really get good at this. It's a lot of fun!

Not worry about your welds, I have been doing signature welds for years, sound pretty impressive when you tell people that, later when you explain that in stead of following the seam your beads look like you are tryin to write you name along them it explains a lot. Perhaps you have seen some of my work, I usually have a large gob of bird poop at the end. My style must be popular cause I have seen a lot of people imitating my style.

I am glad it came in handy. There's nothing like having the tool to do the job.

The 256 has the water cooled torch. I don't know if you have used it a lot yet. But, I am not 100% clear were the water goes in the machine. Does it circulate or is it a flush type system?

    Canada,
The water does not go in the machine. It circulates to a separate available cooler.
