  1. Default intermit pilot arc with CT520

Set up machine and turned it on. Connected plasma cutter. The first five minutes were good untill it started to sputter. I replaced the consumables, and the same thing happened. Pilot arc is intermittent when switch is depressed. When arc is on, bringing the torch to the material to cut, causes arc to actually blow out. Pilot arc is very intermittent and blows out when close to material. Plasma cutter overall, cannot be used. Please Help. thanks

The CT 520 is a Canadian version only, just so people aren't confused. First make sure your polarity is correct. DC- for the torch.

The points in the pilot arc may need adjustment. Please call tech support to get the proper adjustment procedures for your machine.

I am at the factory this Week but i will be back on monday. What pressure is the compressor set at and what psi are you running through the regulator. to high a settings can cause problems with the pilot arc being blown out
    cheers

I have not heard back from Cardoc . It may be the pressure was to high and when the torch was brought close to the material the air pressure would flow back and extinquish the arc.
We have had a couple of situations like this .
    Cheers

Sorry, for not replying guys. Its been crazy at my shop. The torch works a little better between 20 - 30 PSI. The issue still remains though. If i move the torch across a 1/8" plate, really fast, it stays lit but does not cut all the way through. If I go slower it cuts through but sputters across and just punches a bunch of holes. I find it sputters the same at all pressures from very low pressure, 10 psi and at very high, 60 psi. I also have not yet adjusted or calibrated anything internally yet. thanks
